In February, FedEx debuted its SameDay Bots, which are parcel shipping and delivery robots that use a blend of artificial intelligence and motion sensors to navigate city streets and sidewalks.

NYC is not relying entirely on social media to get its information across, possibly.

On Monday, the New York Article claimed getting a letter attorneys from the city’s Department of Transportation sent to FedEx. In it, they threaten to snatch the robots appropriate off the street if FedEx does not quickly eliminate them.

Authorization Denied

A FedEx spokesperson instructed the NY Article that the robots had been only in New York for a “special event” and that future tests programs in the city are to be decided. William Baskin- Gerwitz, de Blasio’s deputy push secretary, in the meantime, does not feel to see a great deal of a future at all for the SameDay Bots in New York.

“Today’s letter will ideally be the stop of this experiment,” he instructed the NY Article, “but we’re geared up to take more methods if FedEx is not ready to get them off our streets.”
