What are you doing for the holidays this year? I’m headed to Chicago to visit…
What are your plans for the holidays? I want to thank you so much for being here, whether you’ve been reading for years or just stopped by. I’m so grateful for this incredible community of smart, funny, thoughtful women, and we love your comments so, so much. Our family is visiting relatives in California — and posting photos on Instagram — but in the meantime, here’s a look back on the past year, if you’d like to see…
Style posts, including weeks of outfits of Suhkie, Hana and Jenny (and Anton!) — and what Cup of Jo readers wear to work. Also, Kelsey listed her favorite size-inclusive brands and I shared the eight everyday clothes I wear all the time.
Beauty posts, including the $18 hair tool Caroline swears by, the make up I wear every day, three friends sharing natural hair tips. Also, our beautiful uniform series, like the hilarious Michelle Buteau, my sweet aunt Lulu and the inspiring Lindy West.
Food posts, including our favorite strawberry cake, 9 easy family dinners, Nora Ephron’s go-to tomato sauce, dinner-changing magic of candlesticks and an old-school photo birthday cake. Plus, deciding to quit drinking, Jenny’s burning questions column and a boxed brownie taste test.
Home posts, including my grandmother’s home in Cornwall, a colorful Brooklyn apartment, a family’s downsized house in Sacramento, a Manhattan jewel box apartment, a maximalist Minnesota house and Caroline’s dramatic apartment.
Relationships posts, like an amazing restaurant surprise, five words that will change your relationship, 12 wedding dos and don’ts, a funny challenge of moving in together, a bookstore marriage proposal, 12 questions to ask your significant other at dinner, not-so strangers and how to be a great aunt.
Culture posts, including six amazing podcasts, five fantastic books, book covers in the U.S. vs the U.K., an interview with the Fleabag costume designer, our new favorite TV show, couples with the best on-screen chemistry and an argument for binge-reading.
Parenting posts, including choosing not to have kids, a dying mother’s letter to her daughters, advice for new parents, four games to play while lying down, funny dad texts, how to navigate a special needs encounter, hilarious passive-aggressive notes from my boys, complicated mother/daughter relationships and the best of parenting around the world. Kelsey also wrote about how she’d thought she’d accepted her body until she got pregnant.
Thank you again for reading! We’ll be back with new posts on January 6th. Have a wonderful holiday. We love you. xoxo
